Katherine Ung runs Hydroholistic in London.
In her own words, this is what she says
"Before electing to go on the course taught by the (London) School, I spent a lot of time researching the different trainings available and found the tutors at the (London) School to be very approachable straight away which immediately put me at ease.
They asked me a lot of questions about my intentions and ambitions, in order, to give me advice on how to best prepare myself for the training and also for my business afterward. This meant that even before starting the course I was already organising my business.
The training was extremely thorough and provided far more information than I had imagined. I found myself turning into a competent confident therapist in 7 very intensive days.
What was really useful was the support I got afterward with my practice. I knew that I could pick up the phone if I had an urgent query. The homework which we were asked to do afterward was also an invaluable experience with lots of feed back which consolidated my confidence and practice."
"If you're looking to train as a Colon Hydrotherapist and want the best training available then I would definitely recommend the (London) School of Colon Hydrotherapy'.
Two years ago I was dissatisfied with my career in a conventional medical setting. I had already trained as a holistic therapist but wanted to expand my knowledge and skills, particularly around colon health to enable me to set up my own business and work for myself.
After contacting several training schools I opted for the London School as they appeared to offer the most comprehensive, student-centred training ....and they did.
The training consisted of a week long, certificated, residential course which enabled me to set up my own business and gain insurance. I then completed several case studies before returning to the School to complete an examination to gain a full diploma. The tutors at the London School have taught me to perform colonics to a very high standard. They have also given me a very sound background knowledge in nutrition, stool analysis, colon pathology, naturopathic principles and anatomy & physiology.
The training is very much hands-on, having practical as well as theoretical components. Student numbers are low. The group I was in had four students, including myself. Such a low intake really helped to build my confidence and helped me progress through the course. I never felt embarrassed about asking questions and found that I engaged and participated a lot more than I would have had I been in a large group.
I also learned a lot about business set up. The School gives clear advice on the expected standards required for equipment, plumbing, room layout and suitable premises. The students in my group had all been advised on suitable premises before attending the course to enable them to set up immediately on its completion.
Marketing strategies are also discussed. Successful strategies adopted by the tutors and previous students are shared with the group. Brian, one of the course tutors, offers excellent advice on client handling, how to keep existing clients and ways of obtaining new referrals to keep your business healthy. The School gives you the skills needed to sell appropriate supplements. I also learned a great deal from my fellow students and now offer other treatments which complement the colon hydrotherapy including food intolerance tests and detox body wraps. I learned from everyone at the course tutors and students alike.
One big advantage of the London School is that I never feel alone - even though I work as a lone practitioner. They offer ongoing support and continuous professional development. Their training is recognised by several Professional Bodies and they themselves operate a Professional Body for Colon Hydrotherapist's so I know that I am well looked after professionally.
I am now in a position that I thought I would never be in. I really love my job. I am fully committed to helping and supporting others in their quest for optimal digestive and bowel health. Many thanks to the (London) School of Colon Hydrotherapy."
